Bear-safe food storage

Bear-safe food storage

Proper food storage helps keep conflicts between bears and people rare. Always check and follow the regulations for specific areas — they are adapted to match the habits of the local bears.

  1. Do you put yourself up there? Menstruating females attract bears! In Montana, I don’t camp with females on the rag!

  2. Or bring a piglet with you and the bear won’t give a crap about the food, and the screaming piglet will let you know a bear is near by, as it tries to run into the darkness.

  3. I never thought there were bears pigs and deer in Florida, but sure enough they are all in my back yard along with armadillos another i never correlated with swamps😂

  4. now how about a video about IOF soldiers coming to your country soon. how do we defend ourselves and get them in prison.

  5. Wow i had no idea bears live in 40 states! I thought it was like 10. I live in Illinois, no bears here.

  6. 1) Bears are smart and can and usually do untie ropes
    2) Bears climb trees and pull down branches to get food bags.
    3) Bear can easily bite through a "bear bag" whoever said they can’t is a dumbass and a liar, and whoever believes them is dumb as dirt.
    4) Bears can easily open a "bear cannister" by ripping it apart…..the weakest adult black bears easily tear open car doors.

  7. I swear, when you’re sleeping in a tent… Bears step on big branches just to creep you out. the jaw clicking and sniffing is scary af too though. :p

  8. There are no bears in Hawaii. Mainland states where bears are vanishingly rare are Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Indiana, Kansas, Ohio, North Dakota, South Dakota, Delaware and Maryland

  9. Adult bears are not good at vertical jumping, so anything above 7 ½ feet would be out of reach for this bear and most bears.
Black bears are known for their climbing ability and can easily scale a 100-foot tree in under 30 seconds. While they can climb various structures, their climbing prowess is particularly evident when scaling trees. Grizzly bears can also climb trees, but they are not as adept as black bears, especially larger grizzlies.

  10. Bro I need to see that bear proof bag in action. The way advertisers are nowadays and the lack of proper product testing, I would be amazed if it actually would stood a bear putting its full effort and strength into ripping it off of that tree or biting through it.

  11. Doesn’t Bells keep them away also I heard it was a wise tale up in Montana. Old man used to walk with a walking stick with bells attached.

  12. have you seen the claws bears have I watched a bear rip a door off a car your bag or tube isnt going to stop them if they want it

  13. There used to be a bear that traveled each year through the state of Illinois. Some stupid government officials thought that he was a danger to others and had him killed. He never bothered anyone! He was just migrating from North to South and back every Spring and Autumn. He had learned how to avoid people. The government should have just left him alone! He was admired for his intelligence. All they had to do, is just keep an eye on him from a distance!! There was no reason to eliminate him! This land was the animal’s home before humans took over! There will always be wildlife!
Humans are the most dangerous animals around!! Causing the extinction of hundreds of species!

  14. Those bear canisters will have the whole group trying to open it in the morning lmao telling you from experience

  15. Don’t tie your bags close to the trunk of the tree or close to any branches because a bear can easily climb a tree and grab it. It needs to be dangling at least 4 feet from anything
