  1. how many chips would you recommend taking on a single trip. and would you take more for your hamster?

  2. Great video Madison! I forgot how much the backpack weighs fully packed! Have you shown a vid of first-aid kit? Probably and I just didn’t see it! That pack looks really heavy!❤️😀🚙🐈‍⬛

  3. Was waiting for the super glue…works better than band aids or dressing and behaves as stitches for deeper cuts (stuff happens – glued together a finger tip that another hiker cut apart like butter [2 distinct flaps] she had one sharp knife no doubt…6 months later finger fully functional scar not even noticed) stings for blisters but works like a champ for miles and sweat won’t peel it off. Happy hiking. Stay safe out there. Oh almost forgot and Duct Tape…things break and the stuff works like a champ even in pouring rain ⛈️⛈️⛈️ 😉

  4. I like to carry extra food just in case,, a small old type tobacco tin,, inside a candle , matches , tinder, lighter wrapped in a condom, condoms are great for carrying water and making a waterproof cover. Also in the tin is a small fishing kit, a signal mirror ,a garrot style saw, small craft blade and a small sewing kit. The other things i like to carry is a tomahawk,, this is great for lots of camp side uses and self defence. small knife on a string around my neck.I also use a lot of conditioner when washing my stuff, this deters insects , bears, wolverines and wolfs hate the smell. As a plus i smell nice at the start of my trip 🙂.

  5. There’s this great shelf where you leave all of your gear. It’s in another video. Where did you buy it?

  6. Hey, very helpful video! I’m looking to buy a tent and so for the msr hubba hubba seems a great tent, but I was wondering how your experience has been with the tent?

  7. Would love to see a video on your car to use it for camping and also how you pack things in it!

  8. Really appreciate this. Just doing an overnight hike with some family, but it was really useful to find some guidance on where to start. Thanks and have a good one.

  9. What was the total weight with all the stuff. I am always worried about more weight as it tires me up soon.

  10. Do you think your tent body & fly could fit in your pack if you didn’t use its original bag & folded it differently? I also have an oversized sleeping bag & have been looking at getting that same backpack. Seeing that your tent doesn’t fit is not encouraging lol

  11. Love the content! I am new to Canada. Can you please do a video on how to store food in the back country?

  12. Wait, wait, wa, stop the horses!
Water weighs 2.2 lbs ( 1 kilo ) per liter.
No one carries that much water at a time, and not inside your pack when you don’t know how much is left at any given time.
Common practice nowadays is 1-2 liters in separate bottles.
One should know their water sources (map) and you fill up and replenish as you hike.

  13. Thank you for this. I’ve been practicing packing and carrying my 60L pack on local trails here in the PNW. I felt like I was taking too much, but seeing what you do, I think I’m good. I’ve tried so many tent packing configurations and I actually like doing exactly what you do 😊. You rock, thanks for sharing!

  14. Hey! Just found your channel and love your videos. I just recently got into solo backpacking after years of of remote 4×4 camping. This was a great video I wish I had seen when I started. Solid advice. I’m curious what your pack weight comes in at. Also, I’m gonna do some research and may have to try that Katadyn filter. I’m not a fan of the the Sawyer I have now. Thanks for sharing your adventures and keep on trekking!

  15. Loved the video! Friendly heads up, some of your links are wrong. Both the tank top and the mid layer links go to the spork, lol 🙂

  16. Don’t know where to put the seat pad? Top flap it.

Don’t know where to put the car? Top flap it.

Top flapping never goes wrong 😂

  17. If you stop using the chapstick, your lips will heal and return to moisturizing themselves after some time. That chapstick is designed to make you have to keep using it.

  18. This video is 12 minutes but it felt like 2 hours and I was thinking jesus how am I going to do this, but yeah 12 minutes lol

  19. 1) No deoderant keeps the beers away. Hehe.

    2) Get some Carnation sweetened condensed milk. High energy easy to pack.

    3) Get some cord 2-3mm thick good for tents, traps, utilities.

    4) With Lekuotape – you can get elestoplast fabric plasters that are good for heals. I couldn’t find in CVS when I was in the us in 2014 but that may have changed. In Canada you may get as similar products to UK and Australia (where I am).

    5) First aid kit should be on bag in visible spot so anyone can find easily. In fact it best if everyone keeps in same place. So they don’t have to hunt for it when panicked.

    6) How do you protect yourself from humans. There are some dodgy people out there. “Wild be The mile” quit van-lifing, she did a video talking about how she had a hand gun and then quit so I suspect she had an incident or got a stalker. I think she posted about stuff while she was there which isn’t good as people can find you. Always post after you leave.

    7) Do you carry a multi tool or knife?

    8) do they still make steripen? If you have UV sterilizer you can be certain no parasites in water.

    9) good on rolling stuff I find it packs better.

    10) do you have any survival or emergency stuff – GPS PLB, flare, Compass with heliostats mirror etc?

Probably think more from cadets days and military packing.

  20. I am new to your channel and enjoying it so far, i just have to live vicariously through you as i am no longer able to do this due to being in a wheelchair. Bulk watching ..hehe 😁😁
