I also always bring a couple Ziploc bags for trash to pack out and a kitchen garbage bag that I can put over my pack in the event of sudden rain.
Florida camping..it was -40 last week here..the toilet tissue version of fabrics and tiny heat sources would work good..in my partially heated garage.
A bunch of city boy gadgets and no extra socks or bandages β¦β¦.
Great info, thanks for making it sound easy π
Looks like you covered the essentials too.
Oh god no!! Plastic water bottle? And why the glasses? Bye
starting to think these channels are just about advertising products
I think a lot of the comment section is unhappy with the price so I’d just like to point out that this is a guide for supplies not on the exact brands you should be buying and using. It’s just to help you figure out what sort of items you should bring on your trip and what you should be prepared for.
Side note: Thanks for the great video Jon! Your advice is great and helps out a lot especially since I live in Idaho as well!
Crazy to show using the widget charging two NPFZ100 batteries π
1 drop of chlorine will purify 1 liter of water.
That little portable pump looks super handy
Does anyone have experience using ultralight Merino shirts in summer conditions?
Sawyer mini por vida!
Thank you for informationsβ€
This whole video is just the most wild flex of over priced gear π
Caffeine pills instead of coffee. Protein bars instead of hot meals (no stove or cookware needed).
Beginnerβs rule #1, donβt backpack alone if youβre going more than two miles from your car. Solo hikers come to a bad end about 50x more than groups/teams. No redundancy, no backupβ¦.
My respect for you went up 10x after the poop situation. Thanks for the tips
The travel bidet is brilliant! I use a bidet at home and it is the thing I miss most when I’m out adventuring.
That portable bidet is a pro move
What is pounds
Thank you very much.
Who the hell is going to get a $400 dollar Nemo hornet tent for all you beginners out there just get a feather stone granite 2p itβs $120 and itβs as good as the Nemo and itβs one forth the price, also do not!!!! Get the beady plz. Ps go to a different Miranda goes outside she has some great advice.
Thank you for the video! However, with the high prices of the products you used, I doubt I’ll be able to start hacking. I want to emphasize the words "beginner" and "first adventure." These tools seem more suited for professionals rather than beginners.
I really liked your point of view!
Culo cleaner had me rolling πππ
This is SUCH good video!! Thank you so much!!
Hey Jon,
Great video! I’m a beginner backpacker and looking for some essential gear recommendations. Specifically, I’m curious about:
* **Backpack size**: What size backpack do you recommend for a beginner on a 3-4 day trip?
* **Sleeping bag**: Do you have any specific recommendations for a sleeping bag for someone who’s not too tall or doesn’t weigh much?
* **Tent**: What features do you think are most important in a beginner tent?
Looking forward to your advice!
So do you clean with filtered water or unfiltered π€π€
Thanks so much for the bidet idea!!
Good stuff: I would add whistle, map, and some kind of rain protection (even just a big garbage bag)
Thanks man! Great video and well presented. Ready!
Does anyone know where he got this hat from?
Just buy a tent and go camping.
Whoa I have almost an identical set up. Haha
I laughed a little too hard at the placement of the external link at 2:00.
I noticed you forgot a gun
Love the bidet thingy. But no small shovel??
This was so useful for me and love love the bidet idea! π
You can’t tell me that ain’t Mr. Beast – he even sounds like him!
This is definitely not a beginner’s guide and most of these items are not essentials. That setup costs so much money, why would a beginner spend this much money when he doesn’t even know if he will continue hiking long term? There is no reason to make beginner’s believe that the barrier to entry to hiking is several hundreds dollars. If you are a beginner go buy some cheap Walmart camping gear and just GO hike, to see if you enjoy it before spending thousands for a setup like this. Yes cheap gear is worse but you can still hike with it, the tittle says essentials but what is essential about a 600$ tent? essentials means necessary. You missed the mark with this video I feel like it’s more of a setup showcase which is fine but the tittle is misleading in that case.
The Airspeed osprey backpacks really are slept on
Anywhere you want to go is when I go purchase the plane ticket
GOOD FRIGGIN LUCK βοΈ
What is a budget youβd recommend for beginners?
π
Cool to see a outdoor content creator from the greatest place to go outdoors.
I Never use toilet paper, dude wipes all the way…. No extra water or a bidet to keep me clean
How on earth should all this weigh just 15 pounds?
Wow, so much flashy plastic garbage!
I’ve been struggling to save space with my gear and confused how everyone does it. Your tent bag is like a quarter the size of mine!
I always take a bit of duct tape.
